Accommodations

Are hotel accommodations provided through Surf into Yoga?
Surf Into Yoga is a retreat service not a retreat home. For our private group retreats we do provide the accommodations through our partner’s in vacation rental luxury homes. First, book your accommodations to confirm availability. Second, book your retreat with us.  We can assist you in finding the best accommodations for your stay.

Do you have any suggestions for accommodations near the Surf into Yoga studio?
Please visit our Suggested Accommodations page for links to our favorites. We also have some private booking accommodations available from time to time. Inquire by email when booking your retreat for special not advertised places to stay.

 

 

 

Booking

How far in advance do I need to book a class, massage, private retreat, or group retreat?
We appreciate retreat bookings 14 days out and single services 72 hours out, however based on availability we are happy to put you in our schedule.

 

 

Waivers

Do I need to sign a waiver prior to taking any classes, receiving a spa treatment, or booking a retreat?
Yes, it is mandatory to sign the waiver prior to arriving to your Surf into Yoga experience. The waiver and client intake form is available upon checking out. You can also access the waiver form here and the client intake form here.

If I booked my services over the phone, can I complete the waiver form before coming to Surf into Yoga?

Locations

Where are the retreats, classes, and massages located?
The SIY Studio is located on the South Shore five minutes from the ocean in Poipu. 

Can someone come to my home or hotel for an outcall massage or private yoga session?
We can come to you with outcall massage and private yoga for single and groups. Add an additional $20 - $75, depending on location, for travel service.

 

Chef Experience

How does the Chef Experience work?
Generally, pupus (appetizers) followed by a three course meal priced $100 - $125 per person, depending on the menu choice. That includes service and food. Beverages and cocktail services are available upon request.

Who will be preparing my meal?

Can my meal be prepared around my food allergies and preferences?
Yes, we have a nutritionist on hand who will be customizing your diet plan as well as assisting in the menu for the retreats with our Chef JP.

Are vegan and gluten free options available?
Yes

 

 

Nutritionist

What is included in the nutritionist service?
An hour of Q+A about nutrition as well as a detailed food allergy dietary plan for you to take home. Extended programs and services are available. Pricing starts at $150.

 

Class Availability

When are Hawaii resident classes?
The schedule may change month to month. As a resident, you can find the class schedule and sign up on the website under the Yoga and Fitness tab.

Who teaches the yoga and fitness classes?
The Studio classes for residents is taught by Rochelle Ballard. Fitness classes are privates by appointment only taught by Mariko Strickland Lum. Yoga privates will be taught by Rochelle upon availability and Liz Smithers .

What is the availability for private yoga and fitness classes?
Our calendar of services are constantly updated. Please review our live availability when booking your service. Should a date or time become unavailable, we will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

 

 

Tipping

What is the standard tipping policy for spa and class services?
It is customary to leave a gratuity or tip for your therapists and instructors however it is a personal decision and left to your own discretion and level of satisfaction. Therapists and instructors are servicing and honoring your wellness for the entire duration of each of your services. If you do decide to tip, both cash and credit tips are appreciated. Cash tips are optimal with discreet tip pouches being available at the reception desk. Your therapists receive all 100% of your tip. Note that if you have more than one therapist or instructor servicing you, the total tip will be split equally between each therapist unless otherwise directed by you. If you are unaccustomed to tipping therapists or instructors, average tipping is 18%-20% of total bill and tipping 25-35% of total bill is customary for exceptional service. Generously tipping your therapists and instructors above and beyond is also welcomed and greatly appreciated. On parties of five (5) or more individuals an 20% service charge will automatically be added to your total bill with the option of adding gratuity if you choose to for services that surpassed your expectations.

 

 

Deposit

Do I need to make a security deposit when booking a service?

  • Private group retreats and private package bookings require a 50% deposit or paid in full to book your retreat.
  • Single services require a 20% deposit or paid in full.

     

     

    Cancellation Policy

    All single services require a 20% security deposit that is refundable within 72 hours of your initial purchase unless it is within 72 hours of your booking. Clients who miss their appointments without giving any prior notification will be charged the full price for the scheduled service. We recognize the time of our clients and staff is valuable and have implemented this policy for this reason. When you miss an appointment with us, we not only lose your business, but also the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time. Additionally, many times our staff will be functioning in an “on call” status and can have travelled to the spa specifically for your service. For these reasons we are obligated to compensate our staff for their time as well as make up for the lost revenue. When you schedule your appointment with us, you are agreeing to these policies. All services require a credit card or gift certificate to guarantee a reservation so please have your credit card and/or gift certificate ready when booking. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation or no show. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment. 

    All group and private retreats require a 50% security deposit. Should the group or any individual within the group cancel within 14 days of booking, Surf into Yoga keeps 20% of the full retreat price. Any cancellation within 72 hours of the first retreat date, Surf into Yoga retains 50% of the full retreat price. No shows and cancellations are non-refundable, unless a medical emergency prevents your presence at the retreat. We are more than willing to work with you to reschedule or work on a partial refund, if we are presented with fair reasoning. We recognize the time of our clients and staff is valuable and have implemented this policy for this reason.
